Belgrade Theater - The National Theatre in Belgrade is located at the Republic Square, on the corner of Francuska and Vasina streets, directly opposite of the monument of Mihailo Obrenovic. The National Theatre in Belgrade was founded in 1868, after hosting actors of the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad, when Prince Mihailo Obrenovic, delighted by the artistry of the theater actors from Novi Sad, decided to build a new, permanent Belgradian theater building, and thus initiate a cultural development of Belgrade. In 1869 the National Theatre moved in the magnificent building where it is located to this day. As part of the National Theatre in Belgrade three art units operate, the Opera, the Ballet and the Drama unit. Scenes that are still in function are Rasa Railović stage the Main Stage.
The interior is modeled and decorated after the Italian model of theaters, with the comfort and decoration of the auditorium in the foreground, as well as special attention to the royal box.
